International Conference on Financing for Development
The Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) provides a unique opportunity to reform financing at all levels, including to support reform of the international financial architecture and addressing financing challenges preventing the urgently needed investment push for the SDGs. FFD4 Conference will be held in FIBES Sevilla Exhibition and Conference Centre.
The International Conferences on Financing for Development are the only space where leaders from all governments, along with international and regional organizations, financial and trade institutions, businesses, civil society and the UN System unite at the highest levels, fostering stronger international cooperation.
HIFHUB Director, Anne-Sofie Munk, will have an active role in two sessions during the conference:
📅 Wednesday 2 July, 14:30-15:30
Anne-Sofie Munk moderates the side event Rethinking Disaster Risk Finance: Preparedness and Innovation for a Resilient Future. The session digs into why pre-arranged financing matters – as a concrete way to deliver faster, more efficient and more sustainable responses when crises hit and prepare grounds for recovery and sustainable development. The event features real-world cases (like disaster insurance) and reflections from those designing, delivering and financing these models. Further, it explores how public and private actors can work together to build a more future-ready system.
📅Thursday 3 July, 10:00–13:00
Anne-Sofie Munk speaks at the Roundtable 6 on Reforming the International Financial Architecture, where she represents the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) network and the HIFHUB . She discusses systemic reform and long-term investments, more specifically how to take action on the Sevilla Outcome, the new playbook for issuance and rechannelling of special drawing rights and how we create a fairer and more effective financial system – one that works better for countries on the frontline of today’s crises.
