With humanitarian needs rising and donor funding under pressure, the funding gap continues to grow. To meet the needs of the most vulnerable people affected by crises, the sector must explore new sources of income. Humanitarian innovative finance offers a range of instruments and approaches to help expand and diversify available resources, ultimately enabling more effective responses.

New Learning Curriculum

“Innovative finance is no longer a niche – it is essential to how we meet the growing scale of humanitarian needs. This new e-learning curriculum is an exciting step forward in building our collective understanding of how financial tools like insurance can drive more timely, efficient, and impactful responses. I encourage colleagues across the IFRC network and our partners to explore the module, deepen their knowledge, and help shape the future of humanitarian financing,” said Nena Stoiljkovic, Undersecretary General for Global Relations, Humanitarian Diplomacy and Digitalization, IFRC

The course – now available on the IFRC Learning Platform – takes about 1 hour and 35 minutes to complete and is currently available in English. You can access it on your desktop, laptop, and smartphone. An offline version is also available to download via the Learning Platform mobile app
